  • Here’s a favorite hymn for Thanksgiving month! Done using a Retro 51 Lincoln and Diamine Aurora Borealis.

(Regarding that review I mentioned last time, it’s almost done, promise! Though it looks like we’re gonna be taking a more CGP Grey-like approach to scheduling…) 🎵💬🖋

  • Give light, and the darkness will disappear of itself. — Erasmus

A quote I recently rediscovered; one of my favorites. 💬

  • 🎵 📷 Beautiful evening at the symphony tonight! Gorgeous sunset on the way out, some absolutely amazing pieces once there, and of course I always love to see the Chihuly in the lobby. (Also, there was a guy playing the sax outside, nice bookend to the concert!)

  • Review in T-minus… oh, whenever I write it. Which will be very soon! 💬 🎵 🖋

  • Say hello to the new flag of Salt Lake City!

  • It occurs to me that it may be a good idea to also include links with the songs I post. I’ll put together a list of them all soon, but for now here’s the last two:

It Is Well With My Soul

    Press Forward, Saints

  • As promised, here’s the second one! This is another favorite hymn, based off a favorite scripture: 2 Nephi 31:20.

LAMY Safari USA exclusive, inked with Robert Oster Fire and Ice. I think, if I can get my act together this week, you can expect a review of this pen soon! 💬 🎵

  • Couldn’t decide between two today, so I’ll do one now and one tomorrow. Sound good?

This may be my favorite hymn of all time, though it’s not in our current hymnal. I am literally praying that it is added with the next revision.

    L2K with J. Herbin Poussière de Lune. 💬 🎵

  • Another day, another inspired soundtrack: This time, We Bought a Zoo. Whoever decided that an already amazing movie needed a dash of Icelandic was a genius.

  • Tomorrow morning I’ll be up the canyon with my family for the Saturday morning session of General Conference! I’d love it if y’all listened along. :)

  • Rewatching Avengers: Endgame. The fact that this movie was not even nominated for Best Score both baffles and infuriates me.

  • No comment this time, just a really good song.

    Pilot Custom 823 inked with Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo. 📷 💬 🎵

  • Regardless of any other problems this episode may have had, at least it had a really good song too! Maybe, when I get around to doing full posts instead of just lyrics, this is one of the things I’ll talk about.

Done with a Pineider Avatar and J Herbin Rose Cyclamen. 📷 💬 🎵

  • Smoky sunset from Squaw Peak in Provo. Why must destruction be so beautiful? 📷

  • I remember doing laundry at 10 PM when this album dropped, immediately putting it on, and loving every second of it. This is the opening track.

(Be warned, though, of the f-bomb in the last chorus if that’s something that concerns you.)

  • For dinner tonight: homemade wild rice soup with Trader Joe’s Green Dragon sauce.

I’d post a pic but I’m a dingdong and it didn’t occur to me it was a family dinner. ;)

  • A favorite hymn of mine, one that I’ve loved since I first heard it visiting my uncle in New Mexico about ten years ago. Happy September, everyone!

Done using a TWSBI Eco with Colorverse Rainy Day. 📷 🎵 💬

  • Just in the nick of time, here’s higher love. A favorite song of mine (I prefer the Kygo remix, fite me) — done a week or two ago, actually, but I’m glad for that.

Have I mentioned moving is a crapsack yet?

Again, a Pilot Custom 823 with Iroshizuku Tsuki-Yo.

  • “Precious declaration says I believe our hope is dead no longer.” This song is a serious contender for my favorite, and the album, Disciplined Breakdown, actually is my favorite.

  • Even if we are sometimes stationary, the world is not. (Also, stationery is fun and brings me joy.)

Played around with filters a bit; I thought this one looked best. I used my iPhone 8 as always, and a Pilot E95S inked with Iroshizuku Ku-Jaku.

  • I’m not entirely sure how the theme song to the fourth installment of a spin-off series of a children’s cartoon has managed to make me cry, but here we are. (It’s also a total bop, by the way.)

The pen is a Pilot Metropolitan inked with Platinum Classic Forest Black.

  • Here’s the one from yesterday, for floating on life’s stormy sea: one of my favorite hymns + a quote I love but can’t recall the source. (This one was a bit longer, hence the slightly different format.)

The pen is a Sailor 1911L Stormy Sea, inked with Robert Oster Bass Straight.

  • Going forward, the first Sunday of the month’s post will be a hymn: I am, after all, a religious man, and first Sundays have a certain significance in my church. This feels like a good way to commemorate that.

(…however, today’s post is gonna come tomorrow. I’m not too thrilled with the lighting on this first take.)

  • 📽 Just watched Zootopia again, after some time. It’s a really good movie.

    Like, really good.

  • So it’s pretty clear I’m not going to “win” Camp NaNoWriMo this year. That’s all right! As long as I keep writing, I’ll consider that a win.
